PEA – ALASKA EARLY (EARLIEST OF ALL)
The Alaska Early Pea originally named Earliest of All, has a lot of great qualities.
As you can guess, it’s one of the earliest to produce in only 55 days.
It’s a semi-dwarf front-tolerant bush variety that grows to only 2′-3′ tall.
It does not require staking and it produces lots of 2″-3″ pods.
WHEN TO PLANT ALASKA EARLY GREEN PEAS
In areas with hot summers, they are grown as a spring or fall crop (fall planting presents its own problems however). It is important to plant your peas early, so that hey have enough time to mature before the hot weather sets in.
Normally the first peas are planted 2 to 4 weeks before the last frost date.
